We are the ONLY music studio in the Roanoke Valley to offer the innovative program KeyNotes Music, making group lessons more fun and effective than ever.

Research has shown over and over that group learning is very beneficial, providing huge peer motivation, many opportunities for creativity, ensemble playing, and learning through games. The best way to be engaged in any activity is to share it with others. By learning in a group, you are joining a community of musicians. You make friends, share the joy of making music together, and peer teach each other. Within a group, students make friends with like-minded musicians and forge deep, long lasting relationships.

Every year, students have the opportunity to participate in two performance festivals with awards/cumulative points to earn different cups, apply for scholarships for continuing education after high school, and earn certificates in a federated theory test.

Every parent just wants to know how their child is doing and if they are really progressing. The best way for a parent to understand if their investment in lessons is really worth it, is to have their child participate in a recital. Most studios charge anywhere from $25-$100 in recital fees! We make it our goal to keep music affordable and accessible to everyone.

From performance Christmas parties to group lessons, Codington Music Studio nurtures a community of musicians of all ages, coming together to enjoy music. Students have opportunities throughout the year to get to know each other and form relationships through music.

Students receive a special discount when they purchase their keyboard or piano from Apex Piano Showroom, located at 2134 Colonial Ave. SW, Roanoke, Virginia.

We are able to be a ‘full service’ music studio. This allows us to offer lessons as early as 7 a.m. and we see students between the hours of 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. If you are a home school parent, retiree, college student or working professional who has a flexible schedule, take advantage of our early morning and lunch time lesson spots!

Situated on the outskirts of Grandin Village and downtown Roanoke, parents are a short distance from the Roanoke Natural Foods Coop, Pops, gas stations, several restaurants, and lots of shopping, making it a fun and convenient location. Parents often go grocery shopping while their child is in piano lessons!

The Studio does not require semester minimums for lessons. Every student is here on a month-to-month basis.
